Tomatoes

The weather is warming and thoughts turn to getting those tomatoes in the ground. If you need to spray any weeds around the garden, in between paving etc, make sure you do it BEFORE you plant tomatoes. They are very susceptible to hormone damage from weed sprays and just the slightest whiff can upset them.
Try planting a grafted tomato this year for a bumper crop. Give them a sunny, well drained spot (raised beds are ideal) with support such as a trellis to let it grow, and grow and grow ......

Plant now dont wait!!!!

Watch this space.
My advice is to plant now as all stocks of edibles in nurseries will quickly run out.
We are madly scrambling to fill the shop up with fruit and vegetables. As soon as the sun appears people come out in droves and empty the shelves. We have never seen gardeners buying edibles like this before and I'm quite sure the nurseries that produce this great product for us will soon run low. If you wait for labour weekend like in the past there will be slim pickings.

An interesting new link today is the colourwave site. http://www.colourwave.co.nz/.
This product is flowing into store and we will very soon be offering great fly buy opportunities on a lot of the product seen in this site.

There's a great range of fantastic products coming into store this spring to get an idea visit tui.

spring is springing

What a great week. The sun is shining and blossoms are a blooming. This week we are busy filling up the store for a busy spring. Daisy's , colourwave petunias, tropical impatiens just to name a few. Also we are busy putting out grafted tomatoes, cucumbers and all the favourite spring vegetables.Inside the store we are flat out filling up seed stands and revamping the houseplant displays. Our suppliers are also very active setting up large displays of new products that are fresh on the market. Some of these are tui vegetable mix. A potting mix specially designed for tomatoes . Another good one that is really taking of is tui vegetable mix. Self explanatory and selling like hot cakes. We have some great fly buys promos planned this spring so if your not a member join now and collect piles of points through gardening with us. https://www.flybuys.co.nz/pages/join.aspx
